Love That Lasts A Lifetime

Cheating and Adultery has become so rampant these days, it could be seen even among the youth.

Personally though, I have not experienced being in any relationship. Yet left and right I see how couples married or not married have become estranged due to a third party.  I have seen conflicts among couples – big conflicts at that – because one partner had been unfaithful to their relationship.

And it does not end there.

The media including movies, TV programs, novels and many others seem to promote adultery through the twists in their stories. Their plots insinuate that unfaithfulness is an everyday occurrence. Adultery is being promoted in the most subtle ways possible even though everyone acknowledges that infidelity is a heinous crime.

Some say that we are no better than animals submitting to our basest instincts. If you are one of those who think that way, think again. Some animals could be more faithful than the average human.

I came across an article from the Mother Nature Network about 11 animals that maintain an intimate relationship forever.  Click here for the article. After reading each one, I found out that a lot of readers also commented that there are more animals that maintain their fidelity.  Whenone partner dies, the other half dies.  Their partnership lasts a lifetime.

With that said, we need to kick ourselves hard and press this knowledge into our adulterous heads. We need to learn from these creatures. Small and simple minded as they are, they could still maintain relationships that really ends in death. Now we need to know who is the higher creature.

“But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment;

whoever does so destroys himself.

Blows and disgrace are his lot,

and his shame will never be wiped away;”

Proverbs 6: 32-33

  1. Pretty powerful stuff, but adultery (and every other manner of sin) always begin with that one SMALL choice. No one who is happily married wakes up one morning and says, “You know what? I’m gonna cheat on my wife/husband.”

    It’s a million little choices that lead you to an adulterous end. It starts by separating yourself from God and then from your spouse, little by little.

    1. True I really agree. It’s a shame though that we still have to learn from animals what we should have known a long long time ago.
